Mt Lyndon

Shaz reports…

Monday and time to head back to the hills with Shanti to make up for leaving him at home on Saturday. Mt Lyndon had been on my radar for some time - and today presented the perfect opportunity to give it a go with snow.

I wasn’t 100% sure about dog access from the lodge on the far side of the lake (which I’ve since been told is fine), so we headed up the ridge just north of the lake from the car park next to the highway.

Below are some of the photos of the trip up. It’s an unmarked route but I was following the trail used by Lisa and her dog, Ghost, they day before so I didn’t have to think too much about the line to choose.

And below are some of the photos from near the top. Stunning views and a trip I will probably repeat - either via the same ridge, or a new ridge - or perhaps both. This particular route goes through a fair bit of scrubby bush and I think the low snow made that easier going than it might have been otherwise, so perhaps not a summer trip.
